About the AKTU CGPA to Percentage Calculator

AKTU applies the same offset as VTU: percentage = (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. A 7.8 CGPA converts to 70.5%, and the maximum, 10 CGPA, is 92.5% rather than 100%.

Because the mapping is linear, each 0.1 of CGPA is exactly one percentage point. That makes reverse checks easy: if a form asks for 60% and you know your CGPA, add 0.75 to the percentage divided by ten — 60% works out to 6.75 CGPA.

How the calculation works

  • Percentage = (CGPA − 0.75) × 10
  • CGPA = (Percentage ÷ 10) + 0.75
  • 7.8 CGPA → 70.5%

Checking the answer

Check one row of the AKTU CGPA chart by hand. A difference of a whole step (10 or 100) means a decimal point moved; a difference in the last digit is just rounding. The first row, 5.0 to 42.5%, is the one worth memorising because it anchors every other figure in the table.

Common mistakes

  • Using a rounded factor for a large quantity, where the error multiplies.
  • Rounding at the start of a calculation rather than at the end.
  • Assuming two similarly named units are the same size.

Using this conversion

AKTU CGPA and Percentage do not share a single multiplier, so the chart is the reference rather than the arithmetic. Reading the nearest row and adjusting from it is faster and less error-prone than rebuilding the formula each time, especially on a phone at a counter or a site office.

When precision matters

Where a AKTU CGPA figure is used for a specification or a payment, take the value from the converter rather than from a rounded Percentage row, and note which convention was used so the other party can check it the same way.

A last check on the AKTU CGPA table: 5.0 42.5% sits at the base of the chart, and the rows above it step in the same proportion, so you can scale from that first row instead of reading every line. If a figure you were quoted falls between two rows, it is the Percentage side that has been rounded, not the conversion itself.

Frequently asked questions

(CGPA − 0.75) × 10, so 7.8 CGPA is 70.5%.
The formula is a linear mapping of grade bands, not a direct scale, so the top grade point converts to 92.5%.
Divide the percentage by 10 and add 0.75. 70% becomes 7.75 CGPA.
